The first tournament of the year was held at Ashfields on the 9th & 10th May with record entries this early in the season of 39 sections. It looks like the 2009 season is off to a flying start. Ashfields did themselves proud with best number 2 in A division Best Number 2 in B division, best number 2 in C division taking 1st & 2nds place.
The indoor winter training is coming to an end and we are about to move outdoors. Winter training this year has seen a record amount of new member join Ashfields Polocrosse Club, from both within and outside of the Polocrosse community.
Ashfields Polocrosse Club are please to confirm that two of our junior members have been selected to join the Under 16 United Kingdom Squad. Ms Olivia Foley and Mr Jonathan Swift are both looking forward to representing their country next year.
Ashfields Polocrosse Club is proud to announce that we have been successful in our bid to host the two International Test Matches between South Africa and the United Kingdom.
August 22nd started out as any other for Mick. Reporting for work as a shunter on the railway in Essex Mick walked along the tracks when a freight train came from behind and knocked him onto the tracks. Before he had time to react, two of the carriages ran over his legs severing them both below the knees. Mick’s thoughts turned to that of his loved ones but despite loosing much blood the prompt response from the emergency services managed to save his life.
Ashfields Polocrosse Club have been asked by the United Kingdom Polocrosse Association (UKPA) to bid for the 2009 test match between South Africa Vs England.
Ashfields Polocrosse Club have been asked by the United Kingdom Polocrosse Association (UKPA) to tender for the 2009 National championships. The National championships are the highlight of the year with over 250 riders competing over three days for the prestigious title of 2009 National Champions.
In conjunction with the United Kingdom Polocrosse Association plans to develop and create Polocrosse centre’s of excellences throughout the UK. Ashfields Polocrosse Club have offered the United Kingdom Polocrosse association the use of it Club and facilities to help develop existing skill levels and to encourage new players into this fantastic sport.

Ms Edie Neill for the 2009 season. Edie has helped us not only in training horses and riders but has acted as a mentor for Ashfields Polocrosse Club.
